Nick Sekkas joined ESPN Radio 1230 in
Fayetteville after serving as a minor
league baseball play-by-play announcer
for the Nationals and Orioles system.
He was the voice of the Aberdeen
IronBirds of the New York Penn League,
broadcasting 76 games for the IronBirds,
who are owned by Cal Ripken, Jr.
In 2007, Nick was the Assistant Director
of Broadcasting and Media relations for
the Hagerstown Suns, the Class A
affiliate of the Washington Nationals.
Prior to this, he worked as Director of
Broadcast Operations for the Pittsfield
Dukes of the New England Collegiate
Baseball League. Nick has also
worked as a production assistant for
Madison Square Gardens Networks,
assisting with telecasts of the New York
Mets, Knicks, Rangers and Metrostars.
He is a 2006 graduate of the University
of Maryland, College Park with a degree
in Broadcast Journalism. Nick is
originally from Croton-on-Hudson, NY and
is a big fan of the Mets and Jets.
